Short summer break

We are taking a little summer break from 28 July to 5 August, to allow everyone in our small team some time off with family and friends. The pub will therefore be closed for the week.

We will be back open and raring to go for our pub quiz with Dave on Wednesday 6 August!

By closing, we allow everyone to take some time out. We sometimes get asked why we close rather than ask someone to come and cover. In over 6 years in the trade, we have learned that even if you have a super-experienced cover manager, you still get those moments when they need to contact you to ask why something isn't working as it should, or where something is, or why that thing is making that noise! Pubs are older buildings and unless you know them inside out, there will always be quirks that cause a worry for someone less familiar with the foibles!

Also, as we are all aware, us small businesses are still working hard to make it through tougher trading times. So there are financial considerations that make closing rather than asking someone to cover the management of the pub for us more viable.
